Background

Bino Tautorrez was from an Italian and Canadian descent. His father (Vincentio "Vino" Tautorrez) was from Italy and moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the eairly 60s. (Tautorrez is an Italian name, so is Bino and Vino. Tautorrez is pronounced as "Tout"-"or"-"rez" in Italian, and Bino is pronounced as "Beno" in Italian. Vino is short for Vincentio, and Bino is short for Bincentio.) His mother (Amanda Robinson) was from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada and from there his parents met and later married.

Career

In 1998, Tautorrez was chosen by Shinji Mikami to provide the voice for a character named Tom, and the voices for Pilot#2, male researcher, worker, and for a screaming guy. Tautorrez offered to serve as the character model for Tom and Mikami agreed. Tautorrez was chosen to provide the voice for Tom during the later corses of the game, while in addition, a fellow Canadian voice actor named Robert Tinkler, provided Tom's voice for the opening cutscene of the game. In 1999, Tautorrez was informed by Mikami that he was planning on a new version of Dino Crisis for the PC and that he wanted Tautorrez to return to provide the voice for the male researcher. He refused, so they got Olive Yu to provide the voice for the male researcher instead of Tautorrez.
